Evgeniya Chervets, an independent consultant in a legal market

After 15 years with a leading interregional law firm as managing partner of its Moscow office, Evgeniya Chervets is leaving the firm to start her own practice, alongside the team of experienced lawyers. Both Evgeniya and her team members are highly ranked in the leading Russian and international legal ratings.
Evgeniya’s core competences include dispute resolution and capital structuring. She has a broad range of experience advising Russian and foreign companies across the manufacturing, construction, retail and finance sectors. Her experience includes out-of-court settlement of corporate conflicts and defense of clients in precedent-setting high-profile court cases. Evgeniya is one of the leading Russian specialists in private foundations. She is also an arbitrator at the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration.
For seven years, Kommersant Publishing House named Evgeniya in its “Leaders in Legal Business in Russia” rating as the lawyer who specializes in resolving commercial disputes. In 2021 Evgeniya received a special mention from Legal 500 EMEA for being “a lawyer with an extensive knowledge and experience in corporate disputes”. In the same year she was recommended by Best Lawyers in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy category.
In 2023 Evgeniya was listed in Pravo-300 in the following categories: Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Group 1), Family and Inheritance Law (Group 1), Corporate Disputes (Group 2), and Dispute Resolution (High Market, Group 2). In December 2023 Evgeniya was mentioned among the 100 most influential persons in Insolvency according to PRObankrotstvo.
Evgeniya’s professional track is a vibrant fusion of practice and science. She is involved in lawmaking and drafting opinions on the various bills. She is the author of numerous publications on Russian and foreign law. She is currently developing the topic of private wealth management. She speaks as a lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, New Economic School and Ural State Law University. In 2023 she joined the mentoring team of the RENEWA⅃ project.
Evgeniya is a founder of the Russian Soft Law Community, a women-focused business community. Last year Evgeniya became a guest editor of the special edition of The Lawyer magazine – Soft Law Almanac, which premiered in St. Petersburg on the dates of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. This project brought together more than 500 participants. The lawyers who appear in the Almanac are known for their professional, public and charitable activities. The Almanac talks through their careers and lives. A 40-minute movie was made about the creation of the special edition of the Almanac.
In 2010 Evgeniya graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Kemerovo State University. In 2012 she obtained a Master’s degree from the Russian School of Private Law (supervisor of her Master’s thesis – Dr. L. Mikheeva) and a year later – an LLM degree from the University of Manchester (supervisor of her Master’s thesis – Dr. D. Dozhdev).
For fifteen years, Evgeniya has been working for Regionservice Attorneys at Law and was at the origin of the creation and formation of its Moscow office. In 2019 she became the head of Moscow office and since 2020 she has been the office’s managing partner and BD/Marketing partner of the firm. She headed the Dispute Resolution and Corporate/M&A practices there as well.
Pravo-300 and Kommersant recognized Regionservice’s litigation practice as one of the strongest in Russia. Capitalization of all claims of the Regionservice’s litigation practice in 2023 amounted to more than 333 billion rubles, according to Pravo.ru’s research of the litigation market.
